About Me & How I Work
Since 2013 I have been part of an established, thriving therapy practice in New Malden and I now offer counselling and psychotherapy in Esher and Claygate.
I am trained and experienced as an Integrative Relational Counsellor and a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).
As a counsellor trained in this way:
- I prioritise the building between us of a trusting and non-judgemental relationship so that it feels safe for you to tell your story and share your concerns. I also consider there is potential for healing to take place within what we create.
- More than one theoretical approach will influence the way I work and this means I can tailor therapy to meet your specific needs. Psychodynamic and Humanistic orientated fields and aspects of CBT will influence how I work with you.
- I will help you to recognise and tap into your inherent strengths that will have potential to help during challenges and struggles in life.
- I will have respect for your values and life experience.
- I will be curious about your early years since I believe that past relationships can influence who we are now and current relationships.
- I will aim to support you to develop an awareness about yourself that can help to explain why you feel, think or behave like you do. This understanding can help a movement towards a greater self- acceptance and compassion. Depending on what is currently an issue a new clarity can also mean taking steps to make changes in your life.
Experience
I have a regular personal meditation practice and teach Mindfulness to individuals and groups.
